On Friday, Team McCain Adventure Addicts flew to Cairns, Australia for XPD, and expedition-style adventure race. The team, Graham Bird, Tatum Prins, Hanno Smit and Ian Don-Wauchope, will trek, mountain bike and kayak for five to ten days – day and night – over this 800km course.
Tatum has sent through an update on their arrival in australia. She says that they’ll get to blog at least four times during the race. Yes, this is part of the race – compulsory stops to blog. Now that’s progressive! She adds the following:

We are here! At this very second we are busy packing sorting bikes, packing food etc. We have just had race briefing and it looks like if we get out of here alive we will be happy. All they are talking about are lethal jellies, jumping ants, spear grass that gets embedded in your feet and stinging trees that sting for 3 months later! I mean what the????
So its all systems go here…
Tomorrow we get our maps and finally get to see where we are going. That means packing 5 boxes that we will see throughout the course. Lots of planning!!!
