Race director Warren Bates says the team truly is world class and has shown their champion adventure racing pedigree yet again.

Seagate have been workman like in their approach to this years GODZone and Nathan Fa’avae said from the get go that the team trained harder this year than they did for the last world champs because they couldn’t possibly lose on their home soil.

The fact is the team that makes the least mistakes is the ones who win and Seagate have certainly done that. A combination of preparation, skill and luck are the advantages that lead teams get to experience.”

A post on the race website, posted at 16h52 on Wednesday 4 March writes:

“Seagate arrived to an appreciative crowd who walked with them the 100m from the beach up to the finish line. They looked reasonably fresh and jokes with friends, fans and family. When asked how the orienteering section was Nathan replied, “It was all good. We found the checkpoints OK. Chris didn’t have to move any this time. He has done that before in races – moved checkpoints that were  in the wrong place.”

Columbia Vivaraid (two members from Spain, two from Brazil) should finish in second place with the Kiwi team, Tiki Tour, in 3rd.
