On Friday, Team McCain Adventure Addicts flew to Cairns, Australia for XPD, and expedition-style adventure race. The team, Graham Bird, Tatum Prins, Hanno Smit and Andre Gie, will trek, mountain bike and kayak for five to ten days – day and night – over this 800km course.
So there’s this guy, Rob Forbes, who left the UK in October last year on an expedition to South Africa with the ultimate intention of watching England in the World Cup. Rob’s 20,000km adventure is a self-styled ‘triathlon’.
Applications for a place on Team www.AR.co.za at the 2010 Abu Dhabi Adventure Challenge have closed. 21 applicants will be considered and applications have been received from seven men and 14 women for the three available places (one man and two women).

Everest season is well underway with some successful summits last week. A bunch of South Africans are sitting on the mountain, waiting for a more sustainable weather window to open before making their summit attempts.
The Kinetic Adventure scheduled for 23 May has been moved to Sunday, 30 May as the venue, Jackal Creek Golf Estate, will be closing the golf course especially for the event.
Australian XPD have unveiled their new website, which will give “unprecedented coverage” of the event so that we can follow teams, including our own McCain Adventure Addicts online.
