The five-day Namib Desert Challenge is offering adventure racers 10% off the entry fee (R13,500) for the fifth edition of this event. It will be held from 25-29 March 2013 in the Soussousvlei area of Nambia.
The Challenge – 220km in five days
The Namib Desert Challenge is a 220km multi-day extreme endurance footrace, which will test both your physical and mental limits. Competitors originate from all four corners of the globe and will test themselves against the elements. Extreme heat, rugged terrain, rocky-mountains, the famous Sesriem Canyon, culminates in the summiting of two of the highest dunes in the world: Dune 45 and ‘Big Daddy’.
The race is now in its 5th year, and we are proud to say that our family of competitors represent the UK, USA, Canada, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Norway, France, South Africa and of course, Namibia. We believe we have found the perfect balance to cater for all types of athletes/runners, if you’re a racing snake, a middle of the pack, or just along for the adventure, we believe the NDC will meet all your expectations and beyond.

The race is tough enough on its own, so we have made sure to provide you the competitor with a few luxuries to make your challenge a whole lot more fun:
The organisers will provide a buffet dinner each evening, so competitors are no longer required to carry their food with them during each stage. The Sossusvlei lodge (5 star) will be preparing the dinner each evening so it is guaranteed to be a delicious feed.
Flushing toilets and hot water showers are provided in the race camp throughout the duration of the race.
Boiling water will be available for competitors, allowing them to prepare their ready-meals for breakfasts and lunches. A campfire will be lit each evening so everyone can swap stories about their day and the challenge that still lies ahead.
Tented accommodation will be provided by the organisers for each night from Sunday 24th to Friday 29th March. Competitors will be accommodated in the luxury Sossusvlei Lodge for the night of Friday 29th March.
We balance your need to carry all your kit, to only needing to carry your pure essentials, such as emergency food rations, emergency gear and clothing, thus still offering a challenging multi-day stage race.

Limited entries are available for the 5th edition in 2013. Only 80 competitor slots available! Registration deadline is 30 December 2012 or as soon as the 80 competitor limit has been reached.
The overall winner of the 2013 race will automatically receive a free entry for 2014.
