Red Ants ready for Argentina

With just over three weeks to go before they fly to South America, Team Red Ants are making final preparations for the 450km expedition race in Argentine Patagonia. This will be the first time that the team will compete overseas and the Andes will be a picture-perfect backdrop. The team members are Alex Wagner, Tim Deane, Nicky Booyens and Brian Gardner. A bonus is that Alex is fluent in Spanish, so all the others will need to learn is “No entiendo español, hablar con mi amigo Alex, por favor“.

News from race head quarters is that there are 25 teams taking part – mostly from South America. The race is non-stop, held over six days and covering approximately 450km in the disciplines of mountain biking (250km), trekking (120) and paddling (90km) in and around the Argentinian lake district.

The start and finish venue is the alpine town of Villa la Angostura, which lies on the shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi.
